为了更健康的生活：Shoes For Planet Earth 组织将为Belmore Park的流浪者派发运动鞋

悉尼的慈善组织--Shoes For Planet Earth 将于十月二十一日星期三，在Belmore Park向流浪者们派发运动鞋。

SFPE组织已经成立多年，关于成立这样一个组织的初衷，他们的CEO--Viv Kartsounis说道：“我坚持跑步已经有很多年了，我热爱跑步。我有很多旧的跑步鞋，它们其实还能穿，不应该被扔掉，那么我就想，为什么不把它们送给需要的人呢？这些旧鞋子也许对我们不怎么重要，但是对很多贫困地区的人们却有着重要意义。这些鞋子给了他们机会去参加体育活动，这甚至会改变他们的生活。”

2015年Wesley Mission Report的资料显示，全澳共有105,000个流浪者，其中在新南威尔士州，每125人中就有一个人无家可归。许多流浪者们因为没有合适的鞋子或者鞋子太烂而出现一些足部问题。SFPE组织希望关注流浪者们的双脚，通过向他们赠与一些运动鞋来改善他们的生活。

一位悉尼当地居民， George Hori Smith 已经从SFPE组织接受了很多双运动鞋，他经常会参加SFPE的每周行走活动--The Renegade Runners，他还曾经穿着这些鞋子参加过City2surf 和Santa Fun Run 的活动。

目前SFPE组织向全澳各个地区发放鞋子。在成立之后的几年之间，他们收到了很多来自世界各地的捐赠鞋，现在他们希望可以将这些收集到的二手鞋发放到更多地方。对此，Viv Kartsounis谈到：“接收鞋子很容易，有很多人都愿意把旧鞋子送过来。但是将鞋子清洗、分类并不是一件容易的事，我们只能完全依赖于志愿者来做这些事。现在我们希望可以筹集一些资金来帮助我们运营，并且提高我们的效率。这些资金也可以帮助我们将鞋子送到更多的国家和地区，帮助到更多的人们。”

About Viv Kartsounis

CEO and co-founder of Shoes for Planet Earth.
Viv, a South African, returned to her home town in 2009 to run the Comrades Marathon, the world's largest and oldest Ultramarathon race.  It was here that she saw first-hand the need for shoes among the  locals – people who love life with the little they own – and she knew that she could make a difference one pair of shoes at a time. 

She ran for Australia in the 100km World Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and was always grateful for how running created opportunities far beyond what she ever imagined. She now wants to give these other opportunities to others who have the will and talents to succeed.

Viv has also been an Australia Day Ambassador on an annual basis since 2012 and has travelled to a number of remote communities to promote her charity and to spread the good news of how great it is to be an Aussie!
